I was always intimidated by lock boxes that require you set your own code, until I purchased this one. It's not too heavy, but it's quite solid. It's also easy to use. The instructions are straight forward... move the lever down on the inside (right) portion of the door to reset the code, then move it back up. Of course, the default code is 0000. The door only opens downward... it doesn't come loose. The U-shaped lever can be stored inside the lock box (which is where you'll find it originally), or you can mash the lever mounted in the top-middle portion of the lock box (all the way down) to loosen it, and attach it (the lever) to the top. It's amazingly easy to use and the U-shaped lever isn't too wide in case you'd like to attach the lock box to another item that's not the door. It's also fairly inexpensive for the technology. I liked it so much, I purchased another for my brother! 5 Stars. No gripes with it. Be mindful, though... it's quite small, so there's not tons of space inside, but just enough for some keys and other things your imagination can dream up. (=All light metal construction - don’t believe reviews claiming the box is plastic - you can tell because if you want to mount it permanently screwed to a wall, you have to drill out the back plate. This box is about 2/3 the size compared to a Master brand lockbox. It will hold only a small key set. It seems secure enough - if someone wants to break open the box, they could just as easily break a window or force entry into the home. I like that the box is black, smaller and stands out less if it is hanging from a door.Very easy to use and very safe. Price is great and is a good item to use whenever you do not want to mount on the wall.
